Driving Wake Up Dead from behind the kit, Robert brings an explosive blend of power, speed, and precision that defines the band’s thrash-fueled sound. Drawing inspiration from Nick Menza, Gar Samuelson, and countless other drumming legends, Robert’s style is both technically sharp and deeply musical — every fill, accent, and double-kick delivered with intent and intensity.
A veteran of the early Buffalo thrash scene, Robert cut his teeth with Dark Deception, performing throughout Buffalo and Rochester, including standout sets at the Fourth of July Festival at Riverside Park. Back then, the city’s underground metal scene was thriving — rehearsal rooms at the legendary Absolute Storage echoed with the sounds of bands like Beyond Death, Tyrant Sin, Leviathan, and Dark Deception. From those gritty beginnings, members of those groups went on to form Cannibal Corpse, one of the most recognized death metal bands in history.
Though life took him in other directions for a time, the passion for playing never faded. Today, Robert has returned to the stage with renewed fire, channeling his roots and rediscovering his rhythm through the music of Megadeth. His thunderous energy doesn’t just keep time — it drives Wake Up Dead forward with unstoppable momentum.
